Kinja'd!!!

Well I had an eventful day so far. The plan for the day was relatively simple. Drop my friend to an interview, get a new collar for my dog and get a coffee as a treat somewhere in between. At some point through out the day my window decided to take a shit and completely refuse to go back up.
Now I know Honda Civics have a stigma for having generally crap power windows ..among other stigmas but I initially assumed I just needed a bit of lubricant and it would be back up and running.
HAHAHAHA NO.
The window decided to fall off the railings and get stuck inside the door. How it didnt crack or scratch I do not know.
Amazingly it was easier to repair then changing my tire about 3 days ago. I have helpfully condensed the process involved into a step by step guide.

1: unscrew and pull of the door card
2: Stick a screw driver in there and wiggle metal things
3: Shove and smack the window in a fashion that is clearly wrong
4: put things back on
4.5:take out the screw driver you left in there.
5: Power window luxury restored.

Now to pull of everything.

Hatch or Coupe? I'm gonna guess hatch cuz that door looks to short to be the same as mine.

I thought they looked a little different especially the vents, and your window buttons don't have silver trim around them. Yeah you panels, and vents are very different from mine. I also need to pull mine off. My diver window sometimes randomly wont roll down at all, and the driver door speaker is blow. (also i love showing off my interior.

Also do your door locks move forward and backward? Thats how they were on my 91 hatch.

Hondas just seem to have dreadful window motors , I don't know what it is but they just seem to slow down or break.
I have a toggle switch on my handles , forward/flat indicates locked

Its not my picture but its the best I could find.

i don't think the motor is the problem on mine. I really have know idea what it is tho. It doesn't roll up or down slow, but sometimes it just doesn't do anything, then i'll turn the car off or bang on the door and it'll work again, I'm hoping it's just the connection to the motor or control. weirdest thing is it has never failed to roll back up. However the despite it not working ever now and then the one touch up/down driver window is one of my favorite parts of my car.

just noticed my passenger side window is getting very slow, worse still when the car is off and it is attempting to wind on battery power only. makes me think it is likely he motor and not just gummed up tracks :(

but I shall repair, for mine started as manual windows and I swapped the entire underdash wiring harness, and door wiring, and door cards and everything just to get power windows, no sense letting them die. I wonder if some company makes a replacement motor that is better than Honda's

enjoy some pics of my brother and I making my power windows a reality :D

THAT IS AN INSANE AMOUNT OF WORK FOR POWER WINDOWS WOW!
That is so awesome :D I applaud your dedication and insanity sir !
That does sound like the motor sadly :( Even though I repaired the window mounting , It is still uncomfortably slow on both sides. It also seems to shake and rattle if it is winding up in the rain.
My sunroof however slides back and forth with more gusto then the bloody engine.

I am not sure why , but it seems to be a common issue for Civics and Integra's. I am now dreading my future project which is to re-install an AC compressor so I can have functioning air. The standard blower is so weak I have to close all vents to get a breath of air out of the drivers side vent. If two vents are open no air comes out what so ever.
So far this summer has been hard, which made the window repair far more poignant.
